Md. Sizan Sikdar
(Mohakhali Sattala Slum, Dhaka)
Sizan, the eldest of two brothers, is a bright and determined young boy. His father works as a security guard, and his mother once worked in a garment factory until illness forced her to stop. She suffers from asthma and severe back pain. Sizan’s father is also not in good health, he had part of his lung removed ten years ago. Since then, he struggles with poor health and can no longer do heavy work. Both parents need regular medical care, yet they continue to do everything they can to give their children a better future. Now as he is in Grade 8, Sizan’s education expenses have grown beyond what his parents’ limited income can cover. Despite the challenges at home, he is one of the top students in his class and works tirelessly to achieve his dreams. But as his studies become more demanding, it is becoming harder for him to get the support and resources he needs. A sponsorship could make all the difference, helping Sizan continue his education, pursue his goals, and relieve some of the heavy burden his ailing parents carry every day.
