Preeti Rani Mondol
(Kapasia, Gazipur)
Preeti is a bright and capable student with enormous potential. But her path to education has been anything but easy. Her father, once a farmer working on others' land, can no longer do heavy labor due to a serious kidney problem. To support their family, he now helps others with poultry farming that pays very little. The family doesn’t even have a home of their own and currently lives under the shelter of others, entirely dependent on the goodwill of neighbors. At one point, overwhelmed by their situation, Preeti’s father considered marrying her off. He believed he couldn’t offer her a secure home, let alone bear the rising cost of her education. Thankfully, her teachers saw her potential and stepped in. They spoke to her father and convinced him not to give up on her future. The school even reduced her fees to ease the burden. But despite their efforts, the struggle continues. With a family of five to support and no steady income, even reduced fees and basic education expenses remain difficult to cover. Preeti’s determination to study remains strong, but her family’s circumstances are a heavy barrier. A sponsorship would allow her to continue her education without fear of interruption and give her the opportunity to achieve something greater. It would also lift a significant burden off her ailing father, bringing hope to a family that refuses to give up.
