Nusrat Jahan Rimi
(Karail Bowbazar, Dhaka)
The sponsorship has brought a quiet but meaningful change in Rimi’s daily life. What once felt uncertain, her ability to stay in school, has now become steady. With her school fees cleared, she is no longer at risk of missing classes, and this consistency has helped her reconnect with her studies in a more relaxed and focused way. There has also been a positive shift in her learning support. The opportunity to attend tuition, which was previously out of reach, is now helping her strengthen her understanding of lessons and keep pace with her classmates. Gradually, she is becoming more confident in her academic work, something that was difficult to achieve under financial stress. At home, the impact is equally significant. Her parents, who were struggling to balance multiple educational expenses with very limited income from renting small tin-shaded rooms, now feel a sense of relief. The sponsorship has eased one of their heaviest concerns. Rimi and her family express sincere gratitude to the sponsor, as this support has not only kept her education going but also brought reassurance and hope back into their lives.
Rimi comes from a large family of seven members. Her father, who used to collect electric bills, lost his job due to political changes, while her mother is unable to work because of a heart condition. Now, the entire family depends on the modest income they earn from renting out a few tin-shaded rooms they built beside their own home. But with all of Rimi's siblings also being students, the financial burden is overwhelming. As a result, Rimi’s parents haven’t been able to pay her school fees for the past three months, and they also couldn’t afford to send her to tuition classes, which she really needs. With the possibility of needing to borrow money to cover these expenses, Rimi’s family faces a difficult situation. If Rimi could get a sponsorship, she would no longer have to worry about her school fees and could get the tuition classes that would help her in her studies.
