Habiba Akter
(Mohakhali Sattala Slum, Dhaka)
Habiba is the eldest of three siblings and faces significant challenges due to her health condition. Her father runs a small tea stall, which provides the only income for their family. However, the money he earns is barely enough to cover their basic needs. Habiba’s mother is unable to work because she must take care of Habiba, as she suffers from a severe skin disease affecting her legs. She has been receiving treatment at PG Hospital, but unfortunately, her medical prescriptions were lost in a fire a year and a half ago, leaving her without proper medication. Despite this, Habiba’s father does his best to support her treatment with the limited resources he has. Habiba’s younger sister is studying at a madrasa. With so many expenses to handle, it is incredibly difficult for the family to manage Habiba's education costs. A sponsorship would significantly relieve some of the financial pressure on her father, allowing him to focus on Habiba’s treatment and the family’s well-being.
