Nahid Hashan Tanvir
(Mirpur 12 Slum, Dhaka)
Once seemingly unattainable, Nahid is now taking the SSC exams. After enduring great adversity, he has been able to carry out his study because of the kind sponsorship. It was hard to comprehend how Tanvir could continue after the terrible fire that destroyed their house and all of his study supplies. However, he was able to replace his damaged books and materials and, most significantly, carry on with his studies uninterrupted thanks to the sponsorship. He can now get support from a tutor who is guiding him through the more difficult material and giving him the confidence he needs to study for his examinations. Tanvir and his mother now have new optimism because of this possibility. It was practically hard for her to pay for both of her sons' educations with the meager money she made from her job at a garment factory. However, the load has now been lessened, and Tanvir is moving in the direction of a better future. Tanvir and his family are really appreciative of the help. In addition to keeping him in school, the sponsorship has enabled him to make significant progress that may lead to numerous opportunities down the road.
Tanvir’s mother works in a garment factory at a very low wage. His mother has to maintain the whole family with this small income because this is the only source of their income. His father left them a long time ago and does not even contact them anymore. Since then Tanvir’s mother has been maintaining his and his brother’s expenses alone. They could hardly manage their expenses as it is and on top of that, their house got burnt in a fire accident in their slum. They lost every thing they had. Tanvir’s books and all the necessary items got burnt. Still, he is trying to continue his studies. A sponsorship would really help ease their struggle and to let him continue his studies.
