Toiyeba Tahera
(Mirpur 12 Slum, Dhaka)
The sponsorship has allowed Tahera to continue her education uninterrupted, even amid one of the most trying times her family has ever experienced. Following the demolition of the slum where they lived, many families were relocated and forced to make difficult decisions. However, Tahera was able to continue her education due to the help she got. Through this sponsorship, she has been able to pay for her school and maintain her academic progress. Her father, who already bears the burden of providing for Tahera and the rest of the family, has also felt a great deal of relief from this. Tahera is still as dedicated and enthusiastic about learning as ever. She and her parents immensely appreciate the opportunity this scholarship has provided for her to continue her education, pursue her dreams, and strive for a better future. They are very grateful to the sponsor for the opportunity.
Tahera is the youngest of her siblings. Her brothers got married and live separately now. Still, Tahera’s father needs to send them some money every month because they don’t earn much. Meanwhile, her mother can’t work outside. So, all the burden falls on her father’s shoulders. It is tough for him to maintain Tahera’s educational costs along with so many responsibilities. However, Tahera really loves to study. It will devastate her if she can’t continue her education. A sponsorship would be very helpful to keep her in school.
