Moslefa Akter Mim
(Mirpur 12 Slum, Dhaka)
Moslefa is finally admitted to school thanks to sponsorship support, and she is now fully committed to her studies. This opportunity is really meaningful to her, as she had to postpone her schooling to allow her younger sisters to attend school. In addition to performing well academically, she is enjoying being part of the program. Moslefa has already found new friends and is always excited about the activities and support that the program provides. Her parents are extremely grateful and relieved. Now that Moslefa's educational costs have been met, they can concentrate more on helping her younger siblings without having to worry about money. Moslefa now has a genuine second chance to pursue her goals and create a better future thanks to the sponsorship.
Moslefa was supposed to be in grade 9 this year. However, she could not get admitted to the school because they could not afford the admission fee. Her father is a rickshaw puller. His income is very low to maintain their family of 5. Her mother works as a maid to support the family. Yet, they fail to cope with the high costs of living in the capital. Moslefa's younger sisters go to school as well. Her parents can't let all three of them go to school. So, Moslefa had to drop out to let her younger sisters get the opportunity to study. A sponsorship would help her to get back to school and fulfill her dreams of studying and getting a better future.
