(Mirpur 12 Slum, Dhaka)
Raisa’s family has been working hard to keep her and her brother in school, despite financial struggles. Thanks to the sponsorship, things have started to improve. Now that her tuition and madrasa fees have been paid, Raisa can concentrate entirely on her academics and her mother won't have to worry as much. She's doing incredibly well, particularly in Madrasa, and her confidence is growing every day. She is able to maintain her motivation and optimism for the future because of the support she is getting. Raisa's family is extremely thankful. This sponsorship gives her the opportunity to dream, develop, and achieve in addition to funding her education.
Raisa is the second of three siblings. Her elder brother is in grade 8. Her parents are already struggling to maintain his expenses. Now that Raisa is also getting in higher grades her expenses are also increasing. It is getting more difficult for her parents to pay for their educational expenses. Raisa's father has a small business but it's not running well. So, her mother works as a maid, leaving her younger sister at home, to maintain the family. With their meager income, Raisa's parents are severely struggling to keep both Raisa and her brother in school. A sponsorship would help ease their struggles and keep Raisa in school.
