Taskiya is a shy 7-year-old. She doesn't go to school like other children in her neighborhood. It is not because she's not interested in going to school, but because her parents could not get her admitted. Taskiya came to Dhaka with her parents in the hope of a better life than that she had in her village. Taskiya's day laborer father thought he would get a lot of work and earn more in the city but the reality is different. The competition for work is higher and so is the cost of living in the capital. They had to leave Taskiya's older sister who is only 9 years old in the village to cut the cost. Still, they are struggling here. Taskiya, who hoped for a better life here, can't even get three proper meals a day. In this situation, sending Taskiya to school is almost impossible for her parents. A sponsorship would really help them send Taskiya to school and provide her with a better environment.
