Jahid has been doing really well in our program. He manages to make time for our activity programs, along with his studies. He is really grateful to his sponsor, Sonia Chowdhury, for sponsoring him. Now he doesn’t have to worry if he’ll be able to continue his schooling. He can focus on his studies and also on learning new things through our activities. Before the sponsorship, it was very difficult for his parents to bear all his expenses but now the sponsorship has lifted a lot of burden off of their shoulders. Jahid loves being in the program and works really hard to make his sponsor proud. We are very proud of him.
Jahid is an energetic young boy. He loves to play cricket with his friends after school. He always knows how to lighten up someone's mood with his joyful nature. But for some time he became timid with the worry that he might not be able to go to school with his friends. His father, who is a cook at a local restaurant, was unemployed during the lockdown. His elder sister maintained the family by tutoring children during this situation. She had to go very far for the tuition. She could barely maintain the family after paying for the transportation. Still, it was their only hope. Jahid's mother tried to look for a job but failed. Even though his father got back his old job, his earning is still very limited. In these circumstances, it is very difficult for them to send Jahid to school anymore. If he gets a sponsorship, he could continue to go to school and be the joyful boy he was.
