Fatema Akter Saoda
(Mirpur 12 Slum, Dhaka)
The sponsorship has been a blessing, helping to ease the financial burden and ensuring Fatema can continue her studies. It’s not just about the financial support, though—it’s also giving her the chance to fully participate in school activities and our programs, where she’s really thriving. She’s become more confident, making new friends, and enjoying every moment of learning and growing. Her family is very grateful to the sponsor for the support. We are also delighted to see Fatema grow.
Fatema was very shy when we first met her. However, she slowly opened up to us. She even recited a poem she learned at school for us. She really enjoys the time she spends at school. But her parents fear that they may not be able to send her to school for long. Her father is a CNG driver. The rent of that CNG is very high. Some days his income can't even cover the rent. It took a toll on their family. They even had to pull Fatema's brother out of school. Fatema's mother now works as a maid. Still, they are struggling financially. They cannot bear the expenses of Fatema and her second brother's educational costs together. A sponsorship would take some burden off of their shoulders and would really help to keep Fatema in school.
