Jannatul Ferdous Hajera
(Mirpur 12 Slum, Dhaka)
Since Hajera received the sponsorship, her family has felt a huge sense of relief. With the financial support, they no longer have to worry about how they’ll afford her education or the extra costs of daily life. Hajera is now attending madrasa and she loves it. She’s eager to learn, and it’s been wonderful to see her growing and thriving in the program. Her parents are so grateful for the sponsorship, as it’s not only helping provide Hajera with the education she deserves but also allowing her to enjoy her childhood without the weight of financial struggles hanging over her. They’re deeply thankful for the opportunity it’s giving their daughter to build a brighter future. Hajera’s bright smile and enthusiasm for learning are a true reflection of the positive impact the sponsorship has had on her life.
Jannatul is the youngest of four sisters. All of her older sisters were married off quite early. Her parents don't want such a future for her. So, they are trying really hard to provide her with an education. However, it is not easy for them. Her father is sick so he can't do any heavy work. Her mother had to maintain the family with very little amount she got from working as a maid. It was getting almost impossible for them to support their family with her income alone. So, their neighbors came together and built them a shop. Now, Jannatul's father runs this shop and her mother helps him after she returns from work. Still, their income is not sufficient to bear all the expenses. Jannatul is still very young, thus her parents don't want all these to affect her. They want her to have a childhood like any other child. A sponsorship would really help them to protect Jannatul's childhood and give her an opportunity to build a better future for her.
