Maria Islam
(Mohakhali Sattala Slum, Dhaka)
Since Maria received the sponsorship, things have really turned around for her and her family. With the financial help, her parents no longer have to worry about how to pay for her school fees, which has taken a huge weight off their shoulders. Maria is still as excited as ever to go to school, and her energy in the classroom has only grown. She's thriving in her studies, and you can tell that having the chance to stay in school is making a big difference for her. Her teachers have noticed how much more focused she is now that the stress of her future education is lifted. Maria and her family are so grateful for the sponsorship – it’s given her the opportunity to keep chasing her dreams and working toward a brighter future. Maria also loves being a part of the program too. She’s been enjoying everything it has to offer, from the lessons to the activities, and it’s really helping her grow. It’s clear that the program is a great fit for her energy and curiosity. We are happy to be a part of her journey.
Maria is an energetic little girl. She loves playing with her friends. She's very quick to make friends. This is also a reason why she loves going to school so much. However, it is getting quite difficult for her parents to bear her education costs along with other expenses. Maria's father is currently working with the Army on a project but his income is very low. Also, as it is a project, he'll be unemployed once it is over. It is very difficult for them to maintain their family on Maria's father's income alone. Unless he can get a more permanent earning source, their problems won't end. They are worried that these problems are affecting Maria. They want her to study for as long as she can but without a proper earning source it might not be possible. If she could get a sponsorship, it would really help them to keep her in school for long and get her the proper education for a better future.
