Ayesha Akter Shirin
(Mohakhali Sattala Slum, Dhaka)
The sponsorship has been extremely beneficial to Shirin and her family. Shirin can now get the assistance she requires, which has significantly improved her academic performance. Her family was previously unable to buy quality books and study materials, but she now has access. This has made it easier for her to concentrate on her studies and perform well in school. In addition to academic help, Shirin enjoys participating in the activities that we organize. It's an excellent opportunity for her to have fun while also making new friends. Shirin's parents are really grateful for the sponsorship. They can't thank the sponsor enough for the opportunity to provide Shirin with the future she deserves, despite the hardships they face.
Ayesha is often seen carrying her sister around with her. When asked, we got to know that she has to take care of her sister while her mother is out at work. Her father runs a tea stall on lease. He earns very little from this stall. But he has to pay its rent no matter what. So, Ayesha's mother had to join a garment factory. Even with both of their income, they struggle to maintain their family after paying all the rent. On top of that, the lease agreement of their shop is going to end soon and if they do not pay the owner higher, he will rent it to someone else. They have difficulties maintaining the family as it is, and now if they lose the shop as well, they might not be able to maintain their family properly, let alone continue Ayesha's education. If Ayesha could get a sponsorship, it would be one less thing they have to worry about and Ayesha would be able to continue her studies.
