Going to school, playing with friends, doing homework, and having fun should be the normal routine of an 11-year-old. However, Munni is not like other 11-year-olds. She has to take care of her little sister and do all the household chores by herself while her mother is at work. Her father is a rickshaw puller. His unstable income is not sufficient to maintain a family of 4. So, Munni's mother had to work, leaving a 2-year-old at home. Yet, they are struggling to cope with the post-lockdown situation. But all these struggles could not hold Munni back from studying. At the beginning of each year, she collects old guidebooks from senior students. As her parents cannot afford a tutor for her, she takes the help of these books and other students to study. Till now she did not have to worry about any costs because there are no school fees till the 5th grade in her school. She's in 5th grade now, after that she may have to leave school altogether because her parents will not be able to pay the fees. So, she's trying really hard to get a good result so that she can apply for any scholarship at her school. However, she's having some problems. As she's getting promoted to higher grades, the subjects are getting more complex for her. She needs help from a tutor if she wants to continue. Munni's mother informed us that Munni could do very well if only she had someone to help her. She was really upset that she cannot provide her daughter with the facilities and help other kids in their neighborhood get. A sponsorship would really help Munni to continue her studies and fulfill her dreams.
